ESPN has done the inevitable: they've "reassigned" Kit Hoover and removed Thea Andrews from Cold Pizza. Gotta say I thought the concept was too good to be true, and perhaps ESPN should be commended for staying with it as long as they did. But Skip Bayless and Woody Paige? Give me a fucking break. There's a reason these two hacks didn't have much face time before this. In Bayless' case, it's especially disappointing, because not only have they given him face time on Cold Pizza, but they're letting him do columns on espn.com, where late, lamented greats like Ralph Wiley shouted and Hunter S. Thompson roamed. Paige reminds me of a sober, unfunny Ron White. And he's from the sports armpit of Memphis, perhaps the most irrelevant sports town in America.
I have exactly four reasons to continue patronizing the Four-Letter Network: Bill Simmons, The Sports Guy on espn.com's Page 2; the under-used and mis-utilized Suzy Kolber, Jason Whitlock's always sensible columns, and soccernet.com. I can do without the rest, and do without I shall.
I am proposing an indefinite boycott of the so-called Worldwide Leader in sports effective today. I say "indefinite": it's possible Kit could resurface on something other than the cringe-worthy Dream Job, and Thea has a history with TSN, ESPN's Canadian sister network. Personally, I'd love to see Kit back on Fox News Channel (I'd even tolerate watching her on Road Rules again!), and Thea is an established actress who should get more work , and would still be working were it not for the NFL strong-arming ESPN to cancel Playmakers.
So in closing, Four-Letter Network, piss off.
And to ensure that this proposal gets Googled (sorry RSS'ers):
Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews Kit Hoover Thea Andrews
I believe Dana Jacobson is just as soft on the eyes as Kit and Thea and she dosen't need her looks judged because she was offered a job or any other reason. Lets just hope ESPN dosen't follow in the steps of MTV doing everything but music video's.

It's no secret that the point of any show, be it morning, noon, or night is in the business to attract viewers; not get rid of them. Getting rid of Thea Andrews will mark as the start of the slow dying death that Cold Pizza will endure. She was sexy. That's what sells in todays world. It's bad enough that they continue the ridiculous Page/Bayless segment; but now they've gone and stepped over the line. It's amzing how normal people like everyone here realizes the importance of having someone like a Thea Andrews on a show. She brings smales audiences in, regardless of how bad the show is. Any male will watch any show if there's a gorgeous woman on it in sexy outfits. Heck, does anyone outside of Europe really think that Baywatch was a show with a great plot and action? Hell no. Yet these so-called briliant ESPN executives don't realize that. If you replace Thea, then you do it with Lisa Dergan, Lisa Guerrero, Leeann Tweeden, or someone of that caliber; not Dana "the man" Jacobson. I Tivo'd Cold Pizza every day so that I'd be able to see Thea. Cancel that now. There's is no frigin way I'm busting my ass at work to come home to watch Dana. After a long day, I want to see someone who gives wood, no kills it!!!

ESPN made another massive mistake with the firing of Kit and Thea. Why the hell did they lose their jobs? They both did good jobs and Thea was fly. They got the ax, but the talentless Jay Crawford keeps his job. Why can't ESPN see that he's terrible? Anyway before the firing I thought that Cold Pizza was nearly unwatchable. Now I think that it has crossed the line into unwatchable. So instead of running a campaign to get Thea and Kit rehired I have a better idea. Cancel Cold Pizza and create a new exercise show, just like the good ole days. You can hire Thea to do be one of the four aerobics chicks and hire Kit to commentate it.

I've going going around as many places on the internet as possible to get people to sign my petition. While was at one site in particular, a user by the name of Loch Ness tried to justify Kit & Thea's ouster from "Cold Pizza":

Someone tell this idiot, that the reason Kit and Thea got fired was because no one watched this horrible show.
Here's my rebuttal and Loch Ness' response:
QUOTE
And what makes you think that getting rid of the main draws to the show will make the show more watchable; now "Cold Pizza" is basically an extention of ESPNEWS (rather than something that can be distinctive from ESPN#1)!?
It was never watchable, and if these women were the shows big draw, why did ESPN get rid of them?

I hate the new Jay Crawford show. That's all it was from the beginning. He received more airtime than Kit, Thea & the other original women. I will never ever watch cold pizza (Jay Crawford Show) again.

ESPN IS FULL OF SHIT.

Finally saw Thea/Kit's replacement. Boy, that sure is a massive downgrade. Kind of wish I hadn't seen her. ESPN picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. That show is surely going to tank now. Is there anyone out there that actually think Dana is going to improve the show?

I watched the show from the first episode, and at first I thought it was going to be a joke. But the show really grew on me. I thought Kit & Thea were a nice touch and they added a cool flavor to the really tight (Jay Crawford) show. The 1st and 10 guys are ok but to have them on all the time is ridiculous. If I want to see men arguing, I can watch ESPN's other moronic shows. I think it sucks now and I will not being watching anymore. I went away on business for a couple of weeks to return to no Kit, no Thea and a shitty format!!! Well it looks like I will stick with The NFL network year round. If anyone from the NFL network is out there Grab these women and start another type of morning show. You will have loyal viewers.
Regards to all

Hey, not only guys watched Cold Pizza for Thea & Kit. I'm a lesbian, 32, and considered butch, and I have the hots for Kit & Thea. Thea really makes me all tingly, and I'd lose it just caressing her legs. Kit would be a hoot to hang with - get her drunk enough and who knows ;-) ?
But jeez, the way you guys are knocking Dana. She doesn't float my boat, but you guys are cruel. Fact is, compared to me she's Cindy Crawford, so it's good I aint on TV. I only wish I had Tivo'd some Thea segments; her voice and smile could get me all wet.

I'm upset over Thea & Kit getting canned too. They were two very hot ladies, but they were NOT bimbos. But, yeah, hot babes in short skirts and heels was the cool concept. Also, it was great that they weren't jocks, but rather 2 really cool ladies who knew sports. And Leslie really got the bums rush. She's got the same professional chops as Robin Roberts, but in a much more attractive package.
Look guys, we're all ticked off, but don't take it out on Dana Jacobson. She's in a tough spot, a no win situation, & she likely knows it. But butch? Elway in a wig? Bitch? Let's not overdo it. Sure, she aint Thea or Kit, but she is kinda cute in her boyish way. With a makeover, she could be pretty nice. All she needs to do is ease up and flirt with the camera a bit. At least she has professional chops.
But, like all the other guys, I have no inclination to tune in anymore. Get Thea & Kit on the air soon !!!!!!!

Thea was surely the best part of the show. The need to make amends by bringing her back and why not get Leeann Tweeden as well. What a pair!
3 blind mice run ESPN. And Stuart Scott is unwatchable.

my mornings are now bleak: before, I used to look forward to catching even a brief glimpse of thea (yeah, kit too) during my morning routine, in fact, before the DISGUSTING 1st and 10 began a few months back, I'd even be late sometime from actually watching the show (after that, I'd only tune to see the ladies)
but now that they are gone, I will never ever again tune in to espn2 between 8-12, ever (unless someone spots thea on the tube!)
sad day, espn mongrels

does anyone know why kit and thea are gone?

thea i miss you. please come back

I can't believe they screwed up the ONLY morning show I've ever watched on a regular basis. Dana Jacobson...are you kidding me? She's like watching a dude. On top of that, all she talks about is basketball. Did you catch her interviewing the baseball players during the 30 teams in 30 days deal? She actually asked the guys about their March Madness bracket...are you kidding me? Can't say that I'll boycott the whole ESPN world, but I'll definitely sleep later and not watch the deuce.
Posted by: Chris | Monday, 21 March 2005 at 22:31
What's the point of watching Cold Pizza, now? You can get better insights on sports anywhere else, but watching Thea Andrews do an interview in a sundress outside of the studio is irreplaceable.

Of all the ladies on TV who "talk sports", I rated Thea Andrews legs and shoulders above the rest. What is ESPN thinking? She wore those skirts for a reason, she knew why people watched. Kit Hoover was cute to look at, but Thea just oozed this femininity that rarely comes across on TV. It certainly held my attention. Hell, I watched the live show AND the replay...every morning. Nothing against Dana Jacobson, but this show has lost me. What's the difference between ESPN and a mosquito? The mosquito stops sucking after you slap it.

I was deeply hurt to turn on Cold Pizza and BAAMMM!!! no Kit or Thea. Like all the other guys here i feel that Thea was one of the most beautiful women on TV. For me it went beyond those super sexy legs of hers she had everything going on for her. And Kit wasa beautiful and had a personality anyone would love. ESPN replaced them with Dana Jacobsen she shows no personality, so sence of humor and she only wears those big ass pants. Maybe if she let her hair grow out some and wore a short skirt that showed off a little leg or even make a joke here and there she wont appear so butch.

Bring Rachel Nichols and bring back Thea Andrews. Now this is two hot girls and they know a lot about sports.

I got up monday morning and turned on the tv to my usual morning staple of flipping back and forth between sportcenter and cold pizza. i didn't get to see the sight i love to see when the show first airs...that being the intro with thea in that red dress and those black hooker boots on!!!! the part where she caught the pizza box and she gives a little cleavage shot is sexy as hell! anyway i turn the show on and i see Dana Jacobson on the show so i figure thea and kit must be on vacation or assignment, no biggie Thea will be back in a couple of days, Then i saw the intro the next day and noticed it was changed, no kit and Thea, I still figured maybe they are going to do a new intro with different looks for the cast. Today being the 18 of march and a week has gone by with no Thea to be seen or heard from i seached the net to find answers and came upon this sight...now i find out the truth and i am slightly pissed now. Cold Pizza was not all that great of a show to begin with (had a little too much useless shit on it) but getting rid of Kit and Thea... ESPN must have lost their minds!!! I didn't particularly like kit all that much, she didn't have a neck, it was like a head stuck on some shoulders, when she wore a turtleneck it looked awful. The funny thing was when Cold pizza first aired, Kit was supposed to be the spunky, hot, cute chick on the show, but Thea's beauty, sexy legs and the fact that she is tall (ever seen her along side jay and kit together?) was a killer combination to go with her sports knowledge and ease during interviews made the show. like i said i liked Kit so-so, Jay can be replaced with any young guy with a suit and a tie, 1st and 10 is ok but i wish jay would get off of Skip bayless's ballsac. He always takes Skip's side against Woody constantly! If he had his head up Skip's ass any further, he could eat Skips food from his stomach before it was digested. Anyway, this was just a bad move by ESPN to get rid of both of Kit and Thea. Dana may know sports, but its safe to say we won't be seeing her wearing a short skirt and showing any leg and thighs any time soon! She probably has more suits than Jay, Woody and Skip combined...Good Luck Cold Pizza, you just lost about 75% of your top demographic...young men ages 20-30, who like pretty, sexy legged women to go with their sports in the morning, its the best of both worlds...Dumb asses!!!!! i can safely say i won't be watching that show anymore. I hope Thea turns up somewhere real soon, i am going to miss seeing her in the mornings.

I,like the rest of you, wondered last Monday what happened to Kit and Thea.I had to come to this website to find out!Kit and Thea were fanatastic hosts along with Jay.The all genuinely seemed to like each other and they all made the show flow well with humor and class. The show is terrible now with Dana Jacobson and I will no longer watch it.Amazing how a show can go from being one of my favorites to one I'll now not watch.ESPN has really screwed this up!!

First, it seems like alot of people forget this is ESPN, a sports network. Most of Kits interviews were disasters, she had no idea what to ask, Couldnt ad lib about sports, and wasnt the right fit. I like Kit, but not on a sports show. She was better on Fox, and would be much better on E! or something similiar. I'm sure COLD Pizza made the change because ratings were dipping and ESPN viewers wanted more sports, thats why you watch ESPN. Trust me, being involved in TV production for many years, a huge network like ESPN would not make a host change unless huge ratings dip and after many focus groups. Dont worry, Kit will be fine, she's a fun, cute girl and who knows, she might be glad, I'm sure she knows sports wasnt the best fit for her. Cold Pizza needed to figure out what it was, a Good Morning America Clone or a sports oriented show, I guess they went Sports......and remember what ESPN is a sports channel. Thanks
