ESPN boycott proposal

ESPN has done the inevitable: they've "reassigned" Kit Hoover and removed Thea Andrews from Cold Pizza.  Gotta say I thought the concept was too good to be true, and perhaps ESPN should be commended for staying with it as long as they did.  But Skip Bayless and Woody Paige?  Give me a fucking break.  There's a reason these two hacks didn't have much face time before this.  In Bayless' case, it's especially disappointing, because not only have they given him face time on Cold Pizza, but they're letting him do columns on espn.com, where late, lamented greats like Ralph Wiley shouted and Hunter S. Thompson roamed.    Paige reminds me of a sober, unfunny Ron White.  And he's from the sports armpit of Memphis, perhaps the most irrelevant sports town in America.

I have exactly four reasons to continue patronizing the Four-Letter Network: Bill Simmons, The Sports Guy on espn.com's Page 2; the under-used and mis-utilized Suzy Kolber, Jason Whitlock's always sensible columns, and soccernet.com.  I can do without the rest, and do without I shall.

I am proposing an indefinite boycott of the so-called Worldwide Leader in sports effective today.  I say "indefinite": it's possible Kit could resurface on something other than the cringe-worthy Dream Job, and Thea has a history with TSN, ESPN's Canadian sister network.  Personally, I'd love to see Kit back on Fox News Channel (I'd even tolerate watching her on Road Rules again!), and Thea is an established actress who should get more work , and would still be working were it not for the NFL strong-arming ESPN to cancel Playmakers.

So in closing, Four-Letter Network, piss off.

I have not watched CP since Kit and Thea were removed. I only tollerated Page and Bayless because I could still see the two hottest women on ESPN. Now? Screw Cold Pizza and I hope it gets cancelled! Dana Jacobson is okay, but not at the expense of Kit and Thea. I've always thought tha Jay Crawford was a dork, and Leslie Maxie kept tripping over her own tongue. Kit and Thea added sparkle to the show, and now it is gone. They should at least let Kit host ESPN Hollywood, instead of "Slater!. She was the one who did most of those types of stories for CP. Let Thea have a supporting role on Tilt and might actually watch it! Cold Pizza used to be a fun mix of sports and entertainment, now it is just a live SportsCenter wannabe. Death to Cold Pizza!

I watched Cold Pizza yesterday, and they had on Linda Cohn. That was ALOT better than Dana Jacobsen! Linda has a great personality, and delivery. She wore a fashionable skirt and sexy top...that did not include a man-style blazer. There's no way in hell that Dana is going on the air W/O her man blazers...man slacks...and horribly bad jewelry/haircut. Mix in a skirt, and lose the blazers. "HE" would never do that. I sometimes wonder if Dana borrows Jay's stuff! When Linda was on yesterday...and Jay introduced her...he didn't say..."filling in for Dana is...". Jay even does not acknowledge Dana as the new co-host, and didn't that day either.

Look at the Cold Pizza Bios on their website. They have never had Dana on there, and continue to not recognize her! Strange??? Not!!! [there's a reason?] However, the day they ripped my beloved Thea Andrews, and perk-alot [RoadRules] Kit Hoover, they were no longer on the Cold pizza website. The "two sexy women team" should not be overlooked. One mannish woman, trying to be Jay's sidekick, and replacing 2 real women, doesn't come close to what the show used to be.

If I wanted SportsCenter, I'd watch just that. I want Cold Pizza the way it was formatted before! Even the opening for the show is generic, and has been ever since they booted Thea and Kit. At least mention on the show that they're booted!

They changed directors for CP ...and that was wrong, also. Nice try, but you had a good thing going already. "If it ain't broke...don't fix it." Kit was a little obnoxious...but don't take away the women! You had 2 sexy girls...and replace it with 1 girl that is like a man, and no personality. She will never wear a skirt, and if she ever takes off 1 of her blazers on a show...[like Letterman does]...I'd be shocked!

Dana is what she is...that's cool, but not for CP. Get the old format back...and still have it be sports based!

Hire Lisa Guerrero! She has ties with ABC, which is sister to ESPN. LeeAnn Tweeden comes to mind, also. Hire Linda Cohn, too...but put the feminine side back into Cold Pizza! Look for 2 other women!

God...it's horrible to watch it, now! Listen to the viewers, for once, PLEASE!

This show started out as something I wanted to watch whenever I could catch it in its timeslot. Jay Crawford, who I used to watch as UPN 44's sports guy in Tampa, was a good choice for the hosting spot in my opinion. And Thea Andrews...need I say more? She was the main reason I watched Cold Pizza. Then the ESPN brass took the show in the direction of SportsCenter: straight to How To Screw Up A TV Show 101. They hired Skip Bayless and Woody Paige full-time, which I knew was a terrible move from the time they did it. They don't fit on that show-their afternoon show can actually be tolerated, but Cold Pizza didn't need them. This gave Kit Hoover and the one and only Thea Andrews far less camera time, and for Thea, it wasn't that much to begin with. Then they committed the ultimate crime: they got rid of them. No more Thea Andrews? Exactly what the people wanted to see got canned entirely. I thought the only company able to do that was the WWE, but I guess I was wrong on that one. They got an average sportscaster, Dana Jacobsen, and put her in the place of Kit and Thea. Actually I hope Thea quit because of her regressing role on the show, but I doubt that happened. But however she got out, nice going ESPN, letting the ratings draws go. Now Cold Pizza is ESPN 2's black hole in their programming schedule-and seeing as this is ESPN *2*, that speaks volumes. I don't care anymore whether or not the guy I used to watch on TV is hosting, this show needs to make room for more Denise Austin infomercials. At this point they could make more money off those.

UNBELIEVABLE! Never in my life have I screamed at a t.v., then when I realized that Kit(bang you all night long) and Thea(dirty hot, yet homely enough to bring home to momma)were given the pink slip! Watching both of these sex bombs in ass-crack in the morning was more of a turn on then porno! What a dick-downer! I have no excus for being late to work or missing a morning workout anymore GODDAMMITTTT! I'm sleeping in now for there is no motivation to get up earlier than usual. ESPN lost me when the put Thea Andrews on ice. I haven't watched 5 minutes of the show since. Been stuck with IMUS in the Morning. It was pretty lame the last few months with Woody and Skip - not to mention the occasional spots by Kato Kaelin. Looking forward to seeing Thea in the future some place. She would be the perfect FOX News babe.

I watched Cold Pizza from the very beginning. It was different from the usual too serious fare, and the Kit/Thea duo were lovely so early in the morning. It has literally gone in the toilet and will probably stay there with the constant shrieking bubbling out of the bowl. What a shame!

Didn't contribute to the show? Just about every single poster here mentioned that the whole reason they watched the show was because Thea is a total BABE and Kit wasn't hard on the eyes either.

There are plenty of other options on the tube to catch sports if that is what people were looking for. Who cares if they made mistakes, this isn't 60 minutes or anything. It is a sports show that is probably mainly watched by guys. Most guys enjoy looking at pretty women and like sports so it is a natural equation.

Almost forgot the female poster, she thought Thea was hot too. ;o)

But the Einsteins at the four letter network have screwed it up.

i work for cold pizza so i'll tell you what the deal is. there were big changes upstairs and the new producers thought, and rightfully so, that kit and thea were not contributing to the show. they have no sports knowledge and you wouldn't believe how many times they mess up. dana knows her stuff. as far as leslie is concerned, she was a waste of space.

Thea is a babe and Kit is cute. She needs a decent hair style but other than that I would do that all night long. I used to leave the TV on to wake up to these two.

As for Jay, leave him alone I don't think he was in agreement with the move. He probably feels he's next.

The show was OK, I thought Kane was acceptable as welll.

ESPN is so fortunate that "The Munsters" TV show was cancelled years ago, so they can borrow Herman Munsters wardrobe for the MAN-LIKE Dana Jacabson! Her suits are horrifying! She has the same dumbfounded expression on her face as Jay Crawford , in fact they favor one another. I don't know which one to say " I am sorry about that" to. By the way, Kit could have easily had a starring role on The Munsters as well. Some of the tight shots of her face was rather scarry with the LOADS of makeup she wore. Bring back Thea, an absolute natural beauty !!!

ESPN has ruined a great thing. They were trying to play off of GOOD DAY LA/LIVE by having 2 knowledgeable/sexy women, and one intelligent guy as their show base. Thea Andrews is one of the hottest women around, and very smart on a variety of Sports Topics. Kit...didn't care for her as much, and they could've gotten a cheerleader from any High School to fill in for her. When kit got back from L.A. from the Oscars, she hung out at partys with P-Diddy and other rappers. She sounded sooooooo queer, as a young white woman trying to sound new-school/hip-hop for almost a week. She's perky, but even her padded bras couldn't make her a star. She was very feminine, and even more so, Thea was as sexy as they get, and seemed down to earth. You nix both of the sexy women, and put on Tony Robbins sister? Dana Jacobson is probably a former NCAA Basketball player, and is extremely "man-like". She could stop dressing like a man, and eliminate the blazer she wears on every show? Just putting on 3-4" heels [that ESPN probably forced her to wear] doesn't turn you into something that you're not. I am not about changing somebody or someone. If they're a certain way, then enjoy life, as long as you don't totally infringe upon others. However, there's a format that you're trying to emulate, and if I wanted to watch a WNBA announcer/John Elway's sister, I'd tune in to other things. [not a "girl" that is like a High School Gym Teacher. I was a newer viewer to ESPN's Cold Pizza, and enjoyed the last few months of Thea and Kit's tenure. Now ESPN has gone loco. Sniffing glue is only 1/2 the problem there. Yes...Stuart Scott is unwatchable. Even Michael Irvin went to a speach therapist to stop himself from talking so "Brother". Stuart has to emulate at least 3-4 times a show that he is Black. I have many friends of mine that are African-American, and they don't even like him. They said they he brings the culture down, instead of helping it. Dream Job? That is a stupid ass show. MTV sucks because they stopped playing music videos, and when they do, it's BET/gansta. ESPN is trying reality shows? Stuart Scott is awful. Get Mike Tirico on that show. He's a genuine professional! Sorry...got off topic...get Thea or Kit back, or both. Get Dana off the set, and put her back into what she covers best... Women's NCAA BB/WNBA. Then hire someone like Jillian Barberrie/Lisa Guerrero for one girl, and someone else, like Suzy Kolber to be the opposite. Suzy probably wouldn't get up that early, anyway. [sidebar...Suzy Kolber would be alot better if she didn't try to make her voice sound so "cutting-edge" everytime she starts a broadcast. she tries to be "in-your-face", and it lasts for about the 1st minute of whatever she's doing. then she calms down, and becomes what she should be as an announcer/reporter. Bottomline...get Dana a different job. Give her some credit, as she is trying to fill HUGE shoes left by Thea and Kit. He is acutally a very good announcer, but I laughed my ass off when somebody they were interviewing said something about his 'mullet'. Thanks ESPN I never liked morning sports shows until I was flipping through the channels and saw Kit Hoover hosting. Since then I have been glued to cold pizza. That is until you got rid of the biggest reasons I watch, Kit and Thea. About Kit and Thea ... I'm already missing them. Kit was the perky brainless cutie every guy wants to bang and Thea is the brainy hot babe that every guy wants to bang. Even though Kit's sports cred and interviewing skills were questionable, she still was good on the eyes early in the morn. At least Thea seemed to know what she was doing, she was an excellent interviewer and so freaking hot!

Jay Crawford is a wuss and the Grumpy Old Men, Woody and Skip, should be banished to a remote bench in Central Park so they can continue to yap at each other. Poor Dana Jacobson...I like her a lot. She's a good reporter. But her joining the show was like buying a ticket on the Titantic just before it left port. She's going down with the ship.
